Disney is increasing prices for Disney+ and Hulu, extending a broader pattern of rising subscription fees across streaming services. The change comes as the company continues to weave Hulu more tightly into Disney+ and adjust its direct-to-consumer business around changing consumer demand.
Disney is raising prices for Disney+ and Hulu, adding two of the industry’s biggest streaming brands to a long-running wave of subscription hikes. The move underscores how major media companies continue to lean on price increases as they seek to improve the economics of streaming.
The latest adjustment affects viewers who subscribe to Disney’s streaming services directly and, in some cases, bundled offerings that include Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Select. Disney’s help pages say certain new bundle prices took effect for subscriptions beginning Aug. 20, 2026, with some existing bundle customers seeing changes in billing on or after Sept. 17, 2026.
Disney has spent much of the past year reshaping how Hulu fits into its broader streaming strategy. In May 2026, Hulu said its standalone subscriptions would continue while the service was further integrated into Disney+ later in the year. Disney later said eligible Hulu subscribers could also stream select Hulu content through the Disney+ app or website.
A broader reset in streaming pricing
The price increases arrive as streaming platforms across the industry continue to balance subscriber growth with profitability. Disney has repeatedly adjusted pricing in recent years across its streaming portfolio, including Disney+ and bundle products that combine its entertainment and sports services.
On Disney+’s U.S. help pages, the company lists a Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select Bundle Basic at $21.99 per month and a Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select Premium at $32.99 per month for new subscriptions starting Aug. 20, 2026. Hulu’s help pages also confirm that Hulu and Hulu Premium subscriptions remain available even as the company expands access to Hulu content inside Disney+.
Disney’s latest moves reflect the company’s broader push to make its streaming business more efficient after years of heavy investment. By pairing higher prices with tighter product integration, Disney is signaling that it expects streaming customers to pay more for access to a wider set of content and features, even as competition in the market remains intense.
